The East Anglian Game & Country Fair is an annual two day, family event taking place on April 22nd & 23rd 2017. We are delighted to announce that in 2017, the 14th show will be hosted on the Euston Estate in Suffolk, by kind permission of The Duke and Duchess of Grafton.
Euston Estate provides a central location for The East Anglian Game & Country Fair, only 30 minutes from Norwich on the newly dualled A11 near Elveden with excellent access to the A14, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Ipswich and Newmarket.
The organisers have said: "This beautiful venue lends itself to a game and country fair setting, along with offering us the opportunities to further evolve and develop the show, with the space and freedom to invite new attraction and events, whilst ensuring that the popular events that we have always enjoyed remain.
We hope you will find something on our website for the whole family to enjoy at the show, including your dog. Visit the show events and attractions pages to view a selection of the fantastic displays and activities confirmed so far for the Game Fair. Watch the show highlights video and don´t forget to sign up to receive all the latest news and offers from us in the lead up to the event."
We welcome world class events and attractions to the East Anglian Game & Country Fair each year. We hope to offer something for the whole family with the opportunity to get involved and ´have a go´ at a range of activities.
Things to do at the Game Fair include Clay Shooting, Dogs Shows, Fly Fishing, Archery, Children´s Activities, Shopping and much more, a great family day out in East Anglia.
We welcome dogs on leads and there is plenty for them to do at the show! K9 Aqua Sports© will be running the K9 Jump Jet Competitions© throughout both days. Mid Norfolk Gun Dog Club will be running the Gun Dog Scurry competitions and ‘have a go’ over the weekend. Enter your dog into the Dog Agility and Jumping competitions and ‘have a go’ arenas, the Pet Dog Show or even the popular Terrier & Lurcher Show which will be a qualifier for all major championships as well as the East Anglian Championship.
A dog crèche is also available at the show run by Samsalin Dog Rescue so if you need to leave your dog somewhere safe for a couple of hours you can.
There are excellent equestrian displays and workshops at the East Anglian Game & Country Fair.
Back by popular demand, UK Horseboarding “somewhere between scurry racing and wake boarding” describes Arena Boarding. Teams take on the clock around a course of gates, set to challenge the best boarders and horse riders, from long straights into sweeping bends and ninety degree turns. Teams have to work together to achieve the right racing line to take the bends and complete the course.
For the 2017 show we are also thrilled to welcome British Scurry & Trials Driving and the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain along with a number of high quality equestrian-based shopping stands. Something for all the family to enjoy!
The Falconry Village will contain a wide variety of birds, equipment and interactive stalls. Whether you are a practising falconer, nature enthusiast or not the falconry village is sure to keep you entertained.
The East of England Cutters & Climbers Competition is made up of three individual events with prizes and rankings for each event. The vast majority of competitors compete in all events, with the chance to win the much coveted ´Most Employable Person´ title. First won by Alex Talbot in 2005 who is now one of our senior officials.
Children of all ages will be really excited to join in with the ‘explore, experience and learn’ section of the show. They will be able to take part in countryside activities and meet several animals. Other stands in this area will include Red Barn Farm, Woodbine Alpacas, Heart Radio and Scratby Donkey Rides.
Our Game Fair country kitchen hosted by Mary Kemp has a great new line up with a variety of cookery workshops and demonstrations taking place over the weekend from a selection of local chefs, including Celebrity Chef Chris Coubrough and Lincolnshire Chef Rachel Green.
We have a wide variety of exhibitors in the food hall from East Anglia and across the UK bringing unusual local produce and mouthwatering food and drink to the show for our visitors to sample, enjoy and purchase.
Join in and ´have a go´ at a range of country activities from clay shooting with John Bidwell’s High Lodge instructors or enter the 40-bird re-entry shooting competition. Fly fishing with the Salmon and Trout Association, ferret racing and archery or crossbows. Try the air rifle range, hold an owl or take a ride in a Landrover on the off road 4x4 course.
There are over 350 shopping stands with a wide variety of products from fashion and footwear to gun makers, fishing products and home improvements. Plus craft halls, antique and vintage fair, gift marquees, The Ideal Home Roadshow and the main bar will be serving a great selection of local beers and drinks over the weekend with a barbecue night on the Saturday with live music.
