The sandcastle competion is being held on Thursday 4th August from 1:30pm and is an annual event run by the RNLI on the beach at Old Hunstanton in front of their boathouse. It is a very popular event which last year attracted about a hundred entries.
The event is intended to raise awareness of the RNLI rather than as a fundraising event. This is reflected in the nominal entry fee of £1. All ages are welcome and there are three prizes in each age group. Sandcastle building starts at 2pm.
As well as viewing or participating in the entries visitors are welcome to look around the boathouse which houses the hovercraft and boat used in the rescues in the Wash.
The nearest public car park is Cliff Car Park, Lighthouse Close, off Lighthouse Lane, PE36 6EL and public toilets can be found behind the boathouse. Refreshments are available from the beach cafe next to the boathouse.
We look forward to seeing you there on the day.
