Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July 2016
The Mid-Norfolk Railway is proud to support the 4th annual Dereham Blues Festival. The festival will run from Thursday 7th July through to Sunday 10th July and attracts not only the very finest of the region’s musicians, but also bands from all over the UK.
With over 20 blues acts playing across some twelve different venues in Dereham, all just a stone’s throw away from each other, festival-goers can enjoy whole ‘mess o blues’ from Mississippi swamp through to R&B, from the Chicago blues of Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters to Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan right up to the funky verging on jazz!
The festival will go on throughout the weekend, ending in the now infamous huge jam session at the Kings Head in Dereham on the Sunday afternoon.
Dereham Station also serves as venue for the Blues Festival on the Saturday night, and the volunteers who organise the Dereham Beer Festival at the end of August, usually have a number of Cask ales, lagers & drinks available.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway also run a dedicated train service for the weekend including reduced rate late night trains to/from Wymondham and our local stations at Yaxham, Thuxton & Kimberley Park so visitors and local people can travel to/from the festival on Friday & Saturday night.
