SANDRINGHAM FLOWER SHOW - WEDNESDAY 25 JULY 2012

This is East Anglia´s largest one-day show, held in the grounds of Sandringham Park, with free access to the grounds and museum of Sandringham House. The Show opens from 9.30am to 5.00pm and Admission is £9 per adult, with children under 16 free.

Sandringham Flower Show is one of the most prestigious horticultural events in the East of England. Now in its 131st year, it is much more than just a Flower Show. It is a unique event offering not only the best in horticulture but also an excellent day out, filled with family entertainment.

Set in the magnificent surroundings of Sandringham Park with Sandringham House and Sandringham Church as a backdrop, this one-day Show attracts around 20,000 visitors each year. From the beginning the Show has been privileged to enjoy Royal patronage and traditionally our Royal Patron attends the Show.

Visitors can tour two large marquees, one displays gardening competitions by the tenants of the Sandringham Estate and the other Open Amateur floral classes from entrants throughout the country. Across the showground are Large and Small Show Gardens, judged by TV personalities Chris Beardshaw and Alan Mason, who also hold a lively Gardener´s Question Time in an adjacent marquee.

Rural crafts and general crafts can be found, together with old time favourites such as Punch-And-Judy and a large Galloping Horses Roundabout. Light refreshments are available, plus events in the main ring and providing the weather holds good, parachutists who will drop into the ring. Should you tire of country and horticultural stands, you can always chill out by watching a cricket match held nearby.

The profits from each show are donated to local charities and since 1977 the Show Committee have donated more than £450,000 to local charities.

Further details can be obtained from Helen Walch, Show Treasurer, on 01485-545400.
