The Royal Norfolk Show

One of Norfolk´s most prestigious events. Come and enjoy the best of Norfolk in just a day (or two!). There´s something for everyone at this year´s show! With 650 trade stands, over 3000 animals and hundreds of attractions, you can be guaranteed a day that´s packed from start to finish.

Walled Gardens Ramble at Holkham Hall

Outdoor Theatre - The Pantaloon´s Pride and Prejudice - at Fairhaven

Festival Too - Free Entertainment in King´s Lynn

FREE street entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the town centre and live music in the evenings on the Tuesday Market Place.

4th July
Farmers Market at Creake Abbey

Over 55 of the region’s best food and drink producers will be at Creake Abbey to supply outstanding fresh seasonal produce including meat, vegetables and fruit, cakes, tray bakes, dairy produce, artisan beer, apple juice, artisan breads, morning goods, puddings, pies, tarts (sweet and savoury), olives and prepared meals all made with the finest local ingredients.

Poringland Farmers Market

One of the newer Farmers´ Markets in Norfolk is the Poringland Farmers´ Market....our first market was on Easter Saturday (7th April 2012). It is now open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at the Poringland Community Centre.

4th July
NGS Open Gardens - Walcott House

Walcott Green, Walcott, Norwich, Norfolk, NR12 0NU. A garden in the making with emphasis on formal structure around the house and a traditional set of Norfolk farm buildings. These provide a series of connecting gardens which, through a south facing garden wall, lead to further gardens of clipped box, pleached hornbeam, fruit trees and roses. All set within recently planted woodland providing avenues and vistas.

4th to 5th July
Martham Carnival 2015

Something special is coming to Martham’s streets in 2015 bringing a whole weekend of live music, arts, entertainment, stalls and a chance to meet our local community organisations. There’s a parade where donations are collected for future Martham Carnivals. The theme for 2015 is Mardis Gras!

Vintage Transport Festival and Annual Bus Event - North Norfolk Railway Poppy Line

The railway´s annual Vintage Transport Festival and Bus Weekend has become one of the "must attend" events for owners of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. There is so much to see and do with everything from marine engines and bicycles to Rolls Royces and tractors on show.

4th to 12th July
Quad-Art Week - North Norfolk Railway Poppy Line

The Quad-Art set will be in service on each of the above dates in normal passenger service. 4/5 July is also our Vintage Transport Day, where a large number of vintage cars and motorcycles will be on display at the various stations along the line.

Long Stratton Farmers Market

One of the newest Farmers´ Market in Norfolk is the Long Stratton Farmers Market....09:30 to 1pm each 1st & 3rd Sundays at the Long Stratton Leisure Centre.

NGS Open Gardens - Bergh Apton Manor

Threadneedle Street, Bergh Apton, Norfolk, NR15 1BL. Established walled garden as part of Georgian Manor House (not open). This beautiful garden is planted for colour throughout the yr with formal edged borders and beds, pond, summerhouse, and terrace with vistas across 60 acres of wooded parkland which can be walked. It has arguably the best lawns in Norfolk.

NGS Open Gardens - Desert World Gardens

Thetford Road (B1107), Santon Downham, Norfolk, IP27 0TU. 1¼ acres plantsman’s garden, specialising in tropical and arid plants. Hardy succulents – sempervivums and plectranthus. Bamboos, herbaceous, ferns, spring/summer bulbs, primula theatre, over 70 varieties of magnolias. View from roof garden. New area of primula auriculas. National Gardeners Question Time. NGS Open Gardens - Holme Hale Hall

Holme Hale, Thetford, Norfolk, IP25 7ED. Noted for its spring display of tulips and aliums, historic wisteria plus mid and late summer flowering. Walled kitchen garden and front garden designed and planted in 2000 by Chelsea winner Arne Maynard. The garden incorporates herbaceous borders, trained fruit, vegetables and traditional greenhouse. We have created a terrace and nuttery and restored the Victorian Ice House.

Walking Women – Wells Beach

1960s BR Mixed Trafffic Weekend - Mid-Norfolk Railway

Join us on July 11th & 12th for our 1960s BR Mixed Traffic Weekend. During the event we will be running an intensive timetable of period trains, including both our Steam services provided by No.10 “Cumbria” and our 1960s Heritage Railcar. On Saturday evening there will be a special 1960s themed fish & chip special train.

NGS Open Gardens - The Wicken

Castle Acre, King´s Lynn, Norfolk, PE32 2BP. 6 acres of garden incl three walled gardens, formal and informal in planting and design, a woodland garden with stumpery which hosts many unusual Hosta and Fern varieties planted amongst Mecanopsis and Dactoloryza., and a working kitchen garden. Beautifully maintained lawns, flanked by mixed perennial and shrub borders, open to stunning views of the surrounding landscape beyond the ha-ha.

King´s Lynn Festival 2015

King´s Lynn Festival, now in its 65th year, continues to provide high quality performances of classical music, recitals, choral and jazz plus talks, exhibitions and films. The Festival features internationally renowned performers and uses beautiful historic venues around the town, including England´s largest surviving Mediaeval Guildhall.

14th North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival

The mix of steam and real ale makes for a truly memorable festival. Beer, food, drink and entertainment are all available over the three days at Sheringham station.

Poringland Farmers Market

NGS Open Gardens - Blickling Estate

Aylsham, Norwich, Norfolk, NR11 6NF. Four centuries of good husbandry have made this 55 acre garden one of the greatest in England. Norah Lindsay, the society gardener, created the garden you see today, which includes an C18 Orangery, Temple, secret garden, beautiful double borders and parterre, lake and ancient yew hedges. The new rose garden is taking shape. Sorry, no dogs.

Walpole St Andrew community centre, Nr Kings Lynn, PE14 7JW. This is a car show of Hot Rods, Customs, Classics, Americans or anything that can be driven.

Summer Jazz Train - Mid Norfolk Railway

Join us on board our very special swinging Jazz train for an evening of live jazz from the Classic Dixieland Trio. The band will play at Dereham Station from 19:15, before the train departs at 19:30. Live music will play during the journey, as well as some of our smaller station platforms along the line, where you can get out and have a little dance.

Wells-next-the-Sea Annual Carnival

Entertainment for all ages from teddy bears picnics for the little ones, costume making workshops, raft race, history walks plus live music over 6 nights and the ever popular Screen on the Green. The event culminates on the 2nd Saturday with the main Carnival event, including fancy dress competitions, a parade around the town and a spectacular music event in the evening.

Diva Opera in the Marble Hall at Holkham – Lucia di Lammermoor

Gaetano Donizetti’s darkly romantic tale of family honour, betrayal and madness. This tragic opera concerns the emotionally fragile Lucia who is caught in a feud between her own family and that of the Ravenswoods. Forced by her family to marry against her will, Lucia descends into madness.

This Very Special 1940s Dance Party will be hosted by the Mid Norfolk Railway featuring live music with the 18 piece Pavilion Big Band at the Dereham Memorial Hall from 7.30pm until 11.30pm, Tickets are limited.

Railway at War Weekend - Mid-Norfolk Railway

Join us for a trip down memory lane as we roll the clock back to the 1940s Wartime era, with a display of vintage war time vehicles and music from the period. Steam services operate during the day.

Dereham Road, Westfield, Norfolk, NR19 1QF. Relax and enjoy walking among the borders and island beds, a riot of colour well into late Summer with plants of all descriptions. Extensive collection of rare and unusual plants plus the more recognisable in this ever changing plantsman´s garden. Reepham Ensemble playing 2-4pm.

2nd August
NGS Open Gardens - North Lodge

51 Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 3TN. Town garden of almost 1/5 acre on difficult triangular plot surrounding Victorian Gothic Cemetery Lodge (not open). Strong structure and attention to internal vista with Gothic conservatory, formal ponds and water features, pergola, classical-style summerhouse and 80ft deep well! Predominantly herbaceous planting. Self guided walk around associated historic parkland cemetery also available.

2nd August
NGS Open Gardens - The Old Rectory

Kirby Bedon, Norwich, Norfolk, NR14 7DX. Early C18 house (not open) situated in a 1½ acre garden has formal lawns, paving, box balls, yew and hornbeam hedges. There are two lawns one oval, and the main lawn having a fine view to the west and an architectural summerhouse. A hedge-enclosed sunken rose garden has a small pond and unusual fountain. An area of rough grass with mown paths is planted with a collection of birches.

3rd August

Hemsby Lifeboat Day 2015

Come and enjoy a fun family day out supporting this very worthwhile cause. The day includes music on the beach, bar on the beach, grand raffle, children’s entertainment, lifeboat displays, charity stalls and tombola stalls. There´s lots to do and see at the 2015 Hemsby Lifeboat Day, so mark it in your calender and help to continue the valuable work of the volunteer lifesaving team.
