Flower Festival Time Approaches in Hunstanton

YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!!!

Old Hunstanton Flower Festival & Summer Fete

THE ST MARY´S FLOWER FESTIVAL & SUMMER FETE
Free Entry & Free Parking to all Events
Wheelchair Access

It´s nearly Festival time again in Old Hunstanton! The Flower Festival has been going since 1969, providing grand floral displays in the beautiful XIV century St Mary´s Church. Visitors are invited to view the floral interpretations to a background of gentle music or singing. Over the years different themes as diverse as "Nursery Rhymes" and "All Good Gifts Around Us" have delighted visitors to the Festival. This year the theme is “A Year to Remember" and already creative interpretations are being prepared.

Our brilliant Summer Fete will be held in the lovely garden of nearby Park House including the refreshment marquee which is always popular, serving morning coffee, light lunches and teas, all locally prepared. Come and enjoy traditional fete events and attractions, alongside stalls selling delicious home made cakes and preserves, crafts, plus plants, nearly new clothes, books, CDs and our famous well stocked tombola and Prize Draw!

A series of events are planned for inside the Church while it is beautifully decorated -

In the Church on Friday July 20th at 6.30pm
there will be an evening of
"REFLECTION AND MEDITATION
TO APPRECIATE THE FLOWERS IN WORDS AND MUSIC"
led by our Rector the Rev´d Christopher Wood.

On Saturday July 21st at 7.00pm
"SAT’DAY JAZZ FAV’RITES"
with Nigel Portass and invited soloists,
also in the beautifully decorated church.
A wine and a Soft Drinks Bar will be available
Free Admission, but a retiring collection will be made.

The Festival service at 9.00am
on Sunday 22nd July
welcomes the visit of CANON PAUL ALLTON.
All are welcome to this family service.

This is followed at 7.00pm by
a highlight of the weekend,
the "SONGS OF PRAISE" concert
when the HUNSTANTON CONCERT BAND
will play a delightful selection of light music and familiar hymns
in the surroundings of the magnificently decorated church.

On Monday 23rd July we will host our
"SPECIAL DAY"
when the Church is converted
to enable people with mobility or other needs
to view the floral displays close up.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served
and if you´d like to learn more,
please contact us. (Mike Tuffs 535951)

The money raised at the Festival goes mainly towards the upkeep of St Mary´s and we are still raising funds for the recent roof repairs.

Please put these dates in your Diary,
we wouldn’t want you to miss them!
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there.
